Abnormal breast implant on Xray - what could this be?

An air fluid level in an implant would be suggestive of an underfilled saline device. Assuming your implants are saline, this is just indicative of air in the shell.

Saline implants are filled intraop. The surgeon determines the volume within a manufacturer provided range. An underfilled implant is more likely to have some air in the device. This will allow leveling out post operatively and give the appearance noted in your photos.

As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).

The darker area appears to be a fluid level. I’m not sure whether you have silicone implants or saline implants. If you have saline implants, my question would be whether that one was completely filled or it had a bit of air in it at the time of filling. If you have silicone implants, I don’t understand why there would be a fluid level in your silicon implant and I wonder whether this is a fluid level of either your stomach or your intestine which is super imposed over your breast implant. Follow up with your plastic surgeon.

The dark area could be an air pocket. In any case it is best to visit with your surgeon or another board certified plastic surgeon for an evaluation. A mammogram or ultrasound may be suggested to help identify the area in question.

I would suggest getting a mammogram with an ultrasound if needed to see if this is breast tissue or just the implant. Most implants do not look like this.

It appears based in that x-ray that’s an air pocket in the implant? If you used sailing implants that were underfilled? Best to see a plastic surgeon ASAP or get a mammogram ASAP most likely need revision surgery. Best virtual consult with.

I believe the dark lump you’re seeing on the x-ray is your gastric bubble.
Did the chiropractor help you interpret the x-ray?
