Hi, I had breast augmentation surgery 2 months ago, and while I'm happy with the results, I'm having some doubts about whether I chose the right implant size. I had a breast lift previously after losing over 100 pounds, and two years later, I decided to get implants. Looking back, I think I might have made a mistake by not trying out more sizes. I only tried on 350, 400, and 450cc implants and chose the 450cc silicone ones. However, I'm feeling like I didn't get as much cleavage as I was hoping for. My doctor told me that the 450cc size is a good fit for my frame, but I'm still unsure if I should have gone bigger or if this size is just right for me.
Answer: Breast implants and size, cleavage Cleavage is determined by your breast anatomy- how far apart your breasts are will not change with augmentation. The middle areas may appear fuller with implants, especially when pressed together in a bra, but larger implants will not necessarily give more cleavage. They will give more upper fullness and size overall. You have an excellent result, it is common for patients to be concerned early after surgery. Let them finish healing, typically 6-12 months, then reassess with your/a plastic surgeon if you still want larger implants.

Answer: Implant Size Please thank your surgeon for your spectacular result. Skin elasticity dramatically impaired after significant weight loss. Larger implants would stretch skin more and gravitationally drop lower becoming physically burdensome and encroaching on your waist and making you look heavier. Your result is perfect for two months, very nice proportion.

Answer: Upsize and implants? Based on your nicely series opposed photos your present for 50 cc size is acceptable but if you desire larger implants with possibly more cleavage, I would go up to 575 to 650 cc mode plus or high profile. Expect fees to arrange from 5000 $8000. Best of virtual consultant with.

Answer: Implant selection.Implant selection. Each plastic surgeon has their own way of guiding patients through the implant selection process. some providers do this better than others. Trying on implants by putting them in your bra is not accurate because the implant is sitting in front of your breast, not behind your pectoralis muscle. The final outcome tends to be much smaller than the perceived size from trying a temporary implant in the bra. I’m not sure if that’s how your plastic surgeon does it. Some plastic surgeons ask the patient to make the final decision other surgeons will make the final decision based on input from the patient. My preferred method is to work with before and after pictures of previous patients who had similar body characteristics. I ask patients to bring in examples of what they feel our ideal outcomes. Once I have a good understanding of what the patient is hoping to achieve I bring those pictures with me to the operating room to use as reference. During surgery, I use temporary sizes to determine what size and shape implant will give the desired outcome.I typically have a full selection of implants available to me during surgery. No method is ideal, but this has been the most successful in getting consistent outcomes that represent what the patient is hoping to achieve. That said, anytime excessively large implants are used the chance of having undesirable outcomes, complications and need for revision surgery will always go up. If you’re happy with your provider, then follow up with him or her. If you want a proper second opinion consultation I suggest you schedule that as an in person consultation with other plastic surgeons in your community. For second opinion consultations come prepared bringing with you a complete set of proper before and after pictures And a copy of your operative report. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
