Hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating can be controlled with Botox or glycopyrrolate. Multiple areas may require nervous system surgical treatment. Please see an expert for evaluation. Best, Dr. Emer
I do not believe that exercise helps reduce primary hyperhidrosis.I have read this and I have heard physician and non physician "specialist" talk about this but this, in reality, has no physiologic merit. People with hyperhidrosis sweat at rest, when they are anxius and stressed, watching TV or being at an NFL football game in the middle of a snow storm. Regional treatments may help improve your quality of life.H Karamanoukian MD FACSCenter for Excessive Sweating, established 1999
Thanks for your question. It is very interesting and a good thing to consider. The sweat glands that are active in hyperhidrosis are known as "apocrine" sweat glands, and the sweat glands that help you cool off when exercising are called "eccrine" sweat glands. The apocrine sweat glands are not involved in exercise or cooling of the body, but cause the "nervous sweat" people get when giving a speech, for example. You can safely stop the apocrine sweat glands from working by using Botox injections or a more permanent solution such as MiraDry, and those treatments will not affect your exercise at all. You will be able to cool off and tolerate exercise just fine with treatments in the underarms by your dermatologist, so ask about that at their office.
I'm not sure but eating a healthy diet and staying active does tend to help. Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are great options giving usually about 6-8 months of relief and there's also MiraDry which is a microwave treatment.Chase Lay MD
Hi! There is no clear answer to this- some providers may space out the treatments, others may do it at the same time. Personally i would do both together at the same session- HIFU first followed by Botox jaw. This has been my practice for years with good results
Options for resolution include: 1. The use of dermal fillers: Radiesse which is injected directly on the jaw bone is the best for this purpose. his would mean augmenting the weaker side to match the stronger side. It is a temporary solution requiring reinjection every 9-12 months. If you prefer ...
This is a great question, thanks for asking. Firstly, BOTOX® won’t be able to “lift” your nose in the sense of a nonsurgical alternative to rhinoplasty. However, when injected to the sides of the nose, i.e. the “bunny lines,” it can have a nice smoothing effect and help you achieve a more youth...
Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong...
Thank you for your question. Yes, it should be safe 6 months after rhinoplasty surgery to have Botox. However, Botox cannot cause indentations in the nose. The indentations are most likely the result of your surgery and swelling. It can take up to 1 year to see final results after having...
I am really sorry to hear that you are having this issue after Botox injections at the chin area. It is hard to comment without seeing before and after pictures of you smiling. Rarely, Botox at the chin area can affect muscles responsible for smiling. The good news is that Botox ...
