In the majority of individuals, following fat grafting to the lips, swelling will have subsided to the point that you can return to public appearance by 10 to 14 days. I routinely perform fat grafting to all areas of the face, including the lips. Fat grafting to the lips can provide a beautiful, natural looking and permanent result. However, the lip area typically has the longest recovery period with fat. Therefore, I rarely perform fat grafting to the lips unless a person is having fat grafting or facial surgery elsewhere and the recovery from fat grafting to the lips as be part of the overall recovery. if a person is looking for lip augmentation exclusively with no need or desire for fat elsewhere, I might suggest Juvederm as a short term alternative to fat grafting to the lips

Typically swelling can take 10-14 days to resolve and bruising may last 2-3 weeks if you get much.  Ask your surgeon about lip augmentation options.  They make a very nice silicone implant too.  Made by Surgisil.
