it is always swollen after a tummy tuck particularly if work was done in that region. you may want to see your surgeon just to be sure.
Dear Nina, A picture is worth a thousand words. It would have much easier to opine with a picture of the pubic area. You did not provide information about fever or chills or redness of the pubic , which obviously, represent infection or even an abscess. If these symptoms are lacking , than the swelling and tenderness are still part of the healing process which might take 2-3 months if the lipo was done in the pubic area (I do not combine tummy tuck with lipo for safety reasons). In summary, you clearly need to be seen by your surgeon asap, to rule out infection. Call him or her tonight or first thing tomorrow morning. All the best, Dr Widder
Thank you very much for sharing your concerns with us.At this point (3 weeks post-po) the swelling is normal. To reduce it, I recommend you perform daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy over the abdomen and wear a postoperative girdle from thigh to the breasts.Kind regards,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
Make sure you are wearing your compression garment well below your incision line. Wearing it above the incision line can create major swelling and pain in that area. Of course always see your surgeon to make sure nothing else is going on as well. Best of luck!
It's not unusual to have post op swelling in the pubic region after a TT especially if any liposuction was performed as well. Dependent swelling on top of possible original fullness in that area will add to the look and pain. Best to see your ASPS board certified plastic surgeon for close follow up.
It is quite common to have swelling of the pubic region after a tummy tuck. Was there any work done on the pubic region? Best to review with your surgeon.
It could be normal swelling or a sign of something more serious. Best to see your doctor to get advice and not wait on this. Hope that helps,CDK
It is very common for the pubic area to get swollen post liposuction due to gravity pulling down. Some surgeons do additional liposuction to the pubic area at the same time as surgery, so that could be the cause of additional soreness. Either way, it sounds completely normal, but always follow up with your surgeon with concerns.
The stretchmarks below the belly button can be removed and the other stretchmarks will appear lower on the abdomen.
If you feel fluid that you can push from one side and feel from the other side, you have a seroma. I would return to your surgeon to be sure. A little swelling below the belly button is normal for a few months after a tummy tuck. Best Wishes!!
We keep several different styles at our facility that we use depending on the patient and how they are healing. I would recommend you speak to your surgeon as he knows best what was done at time of surgery and where you are as far as healing goes.Good luck
Thanks for your question. It is possible to have a tummy tuck after previous abdominal surgeries if the location of the incisions are lower in the pubic area. Someone who has had a gall bladder removed by using a long incision under the right rib cage can be at high risk for h...
Although a Body Mass Index of 28 is considered overweight in terms of general health, the risk of complications from tummy tuck surgery increase at a BMI of 30. If your health is otherwise good, then you should be able to have a tummy tuck.
