Am I a good candidate for under eye botox? I'm 19 years old and when I smile, I get these big rolls under my eyes. I've heard that jelly roll botox can be good for minimizing this.

The eye area needs significant combinations to get improvement. Lasers like erbium, co2, halo, profractional/contour, or Fraxel can all be used to build collagen long term. Plasma pen is a newer less invasive option but will take many treatments and require proper skincare. Plasma Pen is focused electrical plasma energy to tighten skin, producing small columns of energy just above the skin, allowing the skin to tighten to help improve wrinkles. This area will have 3-5 days of small “dots” that will then scab and peel, then the skin will tighter and brighter after. Numerous treatments are needed over lasers where only one or two give a bigger result, but more downtime. After plasma pen you NEED peels 2 weeks like later Cosmelan, enlighten or aerify, see emeragecosmetics (link). The short answer to your question is that microdroplets of Botox can work well for under-eye muscle-related "jelly rolls." The lower eyelid is a muscular hammock. Cosmetic botulinum toxin will weaken the hammock function of the lower eyelid orbicularis oculi muscle resulting in a weakening of this function. The effect is unwanted lower eyelid retraction. The effect of relaxing the lower eyelid muscle roll does not out weigh the negative weakening of the lower eyelid. This treatment is not recommended.

Botox can be used in small amounts under the eyes to soften muscle hypertrophy.  However it is important that you visit with an experienced injector to determine that this is the appropriate treatment for you.  There is a risk that if the muscle is weakened too much lower lid retraction can be affected.

Yes! Small and appropriate dose of botox in the proper location would minimize the jellyroll when you smile. Make sure not to touch the area after the injection as it may spread to deeper tissues (mainly inferior oblique muscle underneath) and paralyze unintended muscles.
