Hello, I had botox to my platysma bands around three months ago. Around that same time, I started snoring, acording to my husband. I am very concerned and don´t know what to do. Could my snoring be a side effect of botox?
Answer: Botox and Snoring Botox used to treat the platysmal bands should not lead to snoring. Snoring can be related to many factors including sleep apnea, deviated septum, and enlarged tonsils to name a few. Contact your primary care physician if the snoring persists.

Answer: Botox in Platysma Bands Hello Caring570427! My name is Jessica, I am a physician assistant, and one of the providers at Shah Facial Plastics. Although Botox is a safe and effective anti-aging treatment for the face and neck, there are some potential side effects that patients may encounter following their treatment session. Common side effects include mild swelling, redness, and tenderness at the sites of injection. These side effects typically resolve on their own shortly after treatment. Snoring is not a common side effect that Botox is known to cause. I recommend to monitor if there are any changes in your sleep habits and breathing. I hope this helps!

Answer: Botox treatments to platysma bands may not lead to snoring. In general, snoring is a multifactorial problem. Generally it is related to the size and position of the back of your tongue in relationship to your soft palate. Snoring can also be related to excess fatty deposits in your neck or to your dental occlusion. The platysma muscle is a superficial muscle in the neck that is considered one of the muscles of facial expression. Neuromuscular paralysis of platisma bands should not affect snoring, in my opinion. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Answer: Botox injections Snoring can have various causes, including anatomical factors, allergies, sleep position, or sleep apnea. Botox injections typically target specific muscles and should not directly affect your airway or cause snoring. If you are experiencing snoring after the Botox injections, it's crucial to consult with your healthcare provider or the medical professional who administered the treatment. They can assess your situation and help determine the underlying cause of your snoring. It's possible that your snoring may be unrelated to the Botox injections and may require a separate evaluation to identify and address the issue properly. I hope this helps, best of luck !

Answer: Platysmal Band Botox Hi, thank you for your question! Snoring is not a side affect of platysmal band botox. The side effects of platysmal band botox being injected improperly can be difficulty breathing or swallowing. This is a very rare side affect and can take up to 3-6 months for the muscle to regain normal movement. I would recommend following up with your certified injector.
