Botox for masseter? (Photo)

Question

So I'm currently thinking about getting masseter botox. I grind my teeth a lot at night and use nightguards. I have always had pretty wide face. I Have defined jawline and very wide cheekbones. Also a large head. I do have pretty hollow cheeks and if my face gets puffy they are pretty much gone and i look terrible. My temples are pretty wide aswell from bruxism. Can I get botox to slimmer my temples? Can masseter botox slimmer my midface a little also? Does it make my cheeks look bigger? Help!

Your have breat bone structure (cheekbones and jaw shape). With aging - the lower part of the face may become fuller than the cheekbones. If that happens - it's due to the jaw muscles (masseters) getting larger from normal use (eating, talking, clenching, grinding, etc...) If the temples are getting larger - you may experience tension headaches/migraines. It's important to find an experienced provider - so ask them how long they have been injecting jaw muscles. Ask them how many units they are injecting and why. If it's not injected correctly - you can get a crooked smile for 4 months. Botox is frequently used to help with TMJ discomfort.  When injected into the masseter muscles the Botox has a slimming effect on the jawline. Yes, Botulinum toxins (e.g. Botox, Dysport etc) can be very helpful in those that clench & grind, and get headaches/migraines. Injecting the masseters as well as the temples would be worthwhile. There can be some slimming of the face as a result of treating the masseters. Most importantly, seek a highly trained physician injector (e.g. dermatologist) for optimal results and safety.
