I just started to notice recently that 1 side of my breasts drops to the side lower than the other and quite uncomfortable when I’m on my back. I wear sport bra 24/7 since surgery because it can get painful without. Does this mean I need a revision?
Answer: Breast implants Breast asymmetry, where one breast sits lower than the other, can occur for various reasons, including differences in tissue characteristics, muscle anatomy, or surgical techniques used during the initial procedure. If you have noticed a recent change in breast position, along with discomfort when lying on your back, it is advisable to consult with your plastic surgeon for a comprehensive evaluation. They will be able to assess the current state of your breasts, review your medical history, and potentially order imaging studies, such as mammograms or ultrasound, to gain a better understanding of the underlying causes. Based on their evaluation, they will determine whether a revision surgery is necessary to address the asymmetry and discomfort you are experiencing. It is important to communicate your concerns openly with your surgeon during the consultation so that they can provide you with an appropriate treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. If you remain dissatisfied after discussing your concerns with your initial surgeon, it might be beneficial to seek a second opinion from another qualified and experienced plastic surgeon. They can provide an independent evaluation of your situation and offer alternative treatment options or recommendations. Keep in mind that wearing a sports bra constantly may provide temporary relief, but it is essential to address the underlying issue causing the discomfort. I hope this helps, best of luck !

Answer: Lateral displacement Dear Ttrinh793, generally speaking, it is possible to get lateral displacement 1 year after surgery. I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Implants Your implant is pushing on your pocket and causing your tissue to stretch and thin. Going smaller would be helpful and your pocket could be tightened. You might even need mesh. go back to your surgeon and discuss your concerns and options. Wearing underwire can be helpful.
