It needs to be
under control, of course, so you need to let your surgeon know since the first
day of consultation. You'll probably be required to get a clearance before
surgery and some precautions may be taken.

I appreciate your question.You will need medical clearance from both your primary care doctor and endocrinologist.  Best to have your sugar levels under control before proceeding with elective surgery so there are no wound healing issues.

If your diabetes is well controlled and you get medical clearance then is is possible to have a BBL. Diabetics are prone to  more complications.
