Is this scar tissue after Vaser lipo? What is the best way to treat this? (Photos)

Question

I have a irregular result after vaser lipo of the abdomen 5 months ago. In addition to dents, there is a lump that's always sore and hard to the touch just under my belly button. It does not feel like fluid. Is this scar tissue? And if so, is this fixable?

Thank you for providing photos for reference. As you heal, the suctioned area may feel “lumpy” and irregular. This decreases with time and massaging those areas will hasten their softening. If it is indeed a scar tissue, it is not a permanent fixture in the body. Have your doctor check if proper healing has taken place and that scar tissue massage is appropriate. If you massage a scar that is not fully healed, it can cause damage to the developing scar tissue which can delay healing.Please do remember that improvement will continue for 4–6 months as swelling and irregularities resolve. These contours can even improve throughout the year after surgery. Everyone gets some degree of  temporary scar tissue (firm spots) and they may resolve differently over 6-12 months. Continued soreness indicates the area is not finished healing.Ultrasound massages and other treatments may help and should be discussed with your plastic surgeon.

Hello for your question and your photos. I believe this most likely it is some scar tissue following your procedure. You may continue to get some additional improvement up to about one year postoperatively. You may consider continued scar massage. I would also recommend that you follow up with her treating physician. You may be able to have this area corrected but I would wait an additional 5-6 months. Best of luck.
