Hi ,the first day I can shower(thank God I stink) so I got the garment off ok took a quick shower,I really don't like the way I felt without it on,I felt vulnerable,I started to wobble & sweat, when I had washed,I quickly realized I had better get dressed ,I ended up laying on bathroom floor for 15 mins while I got myself together, currently laid in bed feeling better,is it normal to feel like this when I take the garment off
Answer: Dizziness after liposuction This is quite a common symptom, especially in the first few days. The garment will keep everything compressed and as soon as you release it your blood pressure will drop somewhat and this can make you feel faint. I always recommend to my patients to remove the garment when they are lying down - either on the bed or on the floor. In this way they will not fall and injure themselves. Slowly come to an upright position and then slowly stand up. Have someone with you in case you do feel faint and need help. Remember that you may also be a little dehydrated due to the loss of fluid and leakage. Keep yourself hydrated to keep your blood pressure up. Your eating habits may not have returned to normal and thus your blood sugar level may also be a little low. Do everything at a slower pace in the first few days.

Answer: Yes, very common Compression garments help in the recovery period, during the first days it will become your best friend. When you take your garment for the first time is likely that you will feel vulnerable. The blood will rush back to this area, and you will experience the symptoms that you described in your questions. I found that my patients like to wear the garment even after their recovery period. Best, Dr. RG

Answer: Vaser lioscution: dizziness post-op hello samantha tolley A short period of rest of 12-24 hours is usually recommended immediately after the procedure. Activity is largely dependent upon how you, the patient feels. This is just a part of normal post-op recovery. You should visit or contact your PS about this concern. #post-op #compression

Answer: Dizziness Taking Off Garment: Is this normal? Good Day. Thank you for your question. Simple answer: Yes, very common. I recommend for each patient for the first day to two days having someone standing by their side during the removal of the garment. YOU will get drainage of a thin red fluid (mainly salt water with a minimal amount of blood) from your incisions. Manual massage to drain more fluid is suggested prior to re-appying the garment and super-absorbent pads. A walk-in shower is preferred, especially with one with a seat (if you are fortunate enough to own one). Safety is key. We don't want you to fall and hit your head. An ER visit for a head CT scan is not what we want to see post-liposuction. After the garment is changed a few times, a few days from surgery and less post-operative narcotics are needed, you will feel much better. Best of luck.
