Answer: Swelling 8 Days After Vaser Lipo Many studies indicate that there is less injury to the body with Vaser than with traditional #liposuction. Recovery from Vaser Liposuction is based on the level of soreness and bruising experienced by the patient. But, it can vary among patients. As with traditional liposuction, there are no large incisions or effect on the muscle and other underlying tissue. Therefore, #healing time may be less than anticipated by most. Therefore, Vaser patients may experience less #pain or discomfort, #swelling (#edema) and bruising post procedure due to the nature of the technique. Swelling is not uncommon. Gentle #walking may increase circulation and help to alleviate swelling. But you must not strain or push yourself. Also, if you were provided a post-procedure #garment, be sure you are wearing it until prescribed otherwise by your doctor. The purpose of the post-procedure #garment is to provide some gentle #support and to reduce swelling. If it feels too tight or causes pain, take it off. Many patients wear the #elastic garment for several weeks after procedures, as directed by their doctor; some choose to wear it longer for several months for comfort. The final results of the procedure are typically most noticeable 2-4 months following the #Vaser. So, you must have patience. The swelling will gradually diminish while the contours of the treated area(s) can continue to improve up to one year post procedure; becoming more apparent in appearance. If you have concerns about your healing, or pain that you question to be unusual, it is important to call your plastic surgeon to discuss these further asked to be examined.

Answer: Totally Normal Thank you for your question. At 8 days after surgery, your swelling is probably at its maximum right now. I always tell my patients that they should be able to see a noticeable difference the first day after surgery, but that between 1-2 weeks the swelling will peak and the results will not look nearly as good at that time. I have had patients call the office 2 weeks after surgery saying, "I don't understand. I looked so good the day after surgery, now all my fat is back, What happened?" Remember, whatever you looked like the day after surgery, that was with all that numbing fluid still in your tissues (most of it stays, as very little is removed with the fat) - after allowing time for healing (4-6 months) it will look better than it did the day after. Just be patient. You cannot speed up the healing process (well, maybe you can with the right supplements and good nutrition) - it just takes time - and, usually, a lot more time than most people think it should take.

Answer: Swelling after Liposuction & After care includes RF treatments (Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra) Cellutone/zwave, hyperbaric oxygen Yes, swelling is typical and can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Swelling after Vaser Lipo I tell my patients that they should plan on looking worse (meaning very swollen and bruised) for about two weeks. Somewhere around 2 weeks, most people start to notice improvement and by around weeks 4 - 6, most people are thrilled with their results. It is way too early for you to be concerned about swelling. In fact, if you had no swelling at this point, I would have been worried!
