Hi Sward1987, Thank you very much for your question regarding the swelling of your abdomen four days after VASER liposuction. I believe the swelling shown in your pictures is due to normal postoperative swelling after VASER HI-DEF abdomen liposuction. Swelling after any surgical procedure is normal. I believe with VASER HI-DEF abdomen, initially, there is more swelling than with traditional liposuction. Swelling dissipates approximately 4 to 6 weeks after VASER HI-DEF abdomen. To minimize swelling after VASER HI-DEF abdomen, I would suggest a tight compression garment. I would suggest you wear this compression garment for a minimum of six weeks. Also I believe Topi-foam or Epi-Foam decreases bruising and swelling after VASER HI-DEF abdomen. Usually, this foam is placed when the VASER HI-DEF procedure is completed and before you awaken from anesthesia. I believe the foam aids in minimizing bruising and swelling. I would also suggest you start lymphatic massage. Lymphatic massage can be done at your plastic surgeon's office or with a trained lymphatic massage therapist. Arnica tablets or tea may also decrease swelling. I hope that I answered your questions regarding swelling after VASER HI-DEF abdomen. I believe that you just have normal, postoperative swelling. If you have any more questions regarding the VASER HI-DEF abdomenprocedure, please contact my office. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen.
