Quick answer is no - long answer is the following: once fat cells are suctioned out they will never come back - and if you gain or lose weight the previously suctioned areas will gain or lose less weight than other areas of your body. In short - lipo is a great procedure to have before getting pregnant! Best of luck.
Thank you very muchfor your question, as it is a good one. Fat cells that have been eliminatedthrough liposuction will not return. However, surrounding fat cells can stillcontinue to expand with future weight gain. The weight gains and stretchedtissues that accompany pregnancy and childbirth can alter the appearance ofyour abdomen, potentially requiring additional liposuction or a tummy tuckprocedure to restore your pre-baby body. If you have any additional concerns, schedulea consultation with a boardcertified plastic surgeon. He/she will perform an in-person examination andreview your medical history, helping you to determine the best way to achievedesired results after your baby is born.
The removal of fat cells from the abdomen will allow for less voluminous increase with increase in weight.
There are a number physiologic changes that come with pregnancy which can ultimately affect your aesthetic outcome post operatively. The two most common are related to weight gain and skin stretch/skin excess. It is important to remember that post puberty the population of adipocyte (fat cells) a patient has will remain stable for the rest of their lives. Weight gain and loss does not signify a quantitative change in the population but rather a qualitative one. The cells will shrink or swell as your weight does the same. Liposuction reduces the population of cells in a treated area from a quantitative stand point but does not prevent qualitative changes. Thus a large weight gain (as seen in pregnancy) may manifest itself by growth in areas previously treated. Liposuction now does not ensure that there will be no changes in the future. That being said, treated areas do exhibit a reduced potential for change due to the diminished population of fat cells. As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon.

Swelling is a normal after your liposuction procedure and is settling due to fluid shifts. It will resolve in 3-6 months. In the meantime, Venus Legacy and Thermage treatments can help swelling in the face. I recommend adding lymphatic massage and hyperbaric oxygen along with your compression to...
