Will my blood pressure cause my surgery to be cancelled?

It is important to remember that cosmetic surgery such as liposuction is elective (and by definition unnecessary), with that in mind safety is of the utmost importance. Patients should be medically cleared and optimized prior to surgery.In your specific case, a mild elevation in blood pressure can be caused by anxiety (so-called "white coat hypertension"). However, it is important to make sure this is an aberration rather than a sign of poorly controlled pressure.Ultimately, proceeding with surgery will be up to the surgical team (surgeon and anesthesiologist).As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon.

As long as your blood pressure in under control and your Doctor provides a clearance- you'll be able to proceed with surgery.

If you do not have any other medical problems, the blood pressure elevations are slight and may not prevent you from having surgery.  This will be left to the discretion of the anesthesiologist and surgeon.

It is unlikely that blood pressure readings such as those you mentioned would cause any problems with surgery. However, it would be best for you to discuss the management of this issue with your primary doctor. Addressing the cause of the elevated blood pressure readings and appropriate treatment would be your best course of action.
