First and foremost, thank you so much for reading and responding. 3 days ago I got 1 syringe of Juvederm UltraPlus in my lips. This is my first time getting lip injections, so I'm still learning, and I would appreciate second opinion. I'm not in any kind of pain. I do feel some tingling now and then, but that is all. Besides bruising, I see lumps once I lift my upper lip. I can't smile at this point because I look ridiculous. Those lumps totally changed my lip structure. Should I be worried?

Answer: Bruising and swelling after lip injections. Thank you for your question. Swelling and bruising are common side effects of lip injections. If you are experiencing lumps I recommend contacting your injector to possibly have these areas assessed. If the dense areas are inflammation they will subside, it they are filler perhaps massaging them out would be an option. All the best,

Answer: Bruising/swelling and lumps after Juvederm lip injection I always try to avoid being a monday morning quarterback when evaluating an injector's work. However, you do have more bruising than is typical. I would also say that your upper lip has far more volume than I would recommend. The bruising is likely contributing to some of the irregularity in your lip contour. That should settle within 7-10 days following the injection. If you still have lumps or irregularities they can be reduced with hyaluronidase. If your injector is not experienced with that product or filler refinement, seek a second opinion. I hope this information is helpful for you.Stephen Weber MD, FACSDenver Facial Plastic Surgeon
