Could the steroids have made the juvederm go away? I had juvederm in my lips 3wks. Ago and had to take steroids for an infection not related to the juvederm .i feel like I don't have as much as I did before. Is this possible?
Answer: Steroids & fillers Hi. There's no link I'm aware between early loss of filler and steroids.Possibly, the anti-inflammatory effect of the steroids reduced a little of the post-injection swelling you were seeing, making the lips look less full. All the best,

Answer: Steroids and juvederm While the steroids will not have a direct effect on the juvederm, hyaluronic acid fillers including juvederm do produce some swelling. The steroids will help reduce the swelling and this may be the effect that you are noticing.

Answer: Juvederm and Steroids Effect There is no known interaction between Juvederm and steroids that I am aware. The most common cause for patients thinking their Juvederm is going away quickly after lip augmenation is the resolution of swelling in the lips. Sweling will remain in the lips for 7 to 14 days after injection. For this reason, I would suggest that you look at your before and after pictures to objective evaluate your results of Juvederm for your lip augmentation.I hope this helps,

Answer: Steroids and Juvederm. Could the steroids have made the Juvederm go away? I am not aware of any interaction between steroids and early loss of filler. In fact, many of my cosmetic surgery patients receive steroids following surgery and their fillers appear to hold up nicely. In my experience, when fillers appear to dissolve quickly the issue is that the lips were not adequately corrected with enough volume. I would recommend discussing with your injector. Hopefully, there are photos to review so you can see how much volume you have actually retained. Best of luck.

Answer: Do steroids affect juvederm? I am not aware of any reason why steroids would reduce the amount of juvederm in your lips. It is possible that the size of the lips after juvederm injection was affected by the juvederm itself as well as by the swelling that occurs with lip injection. Perhaps the steroid helped to remove this swelling, so that the lips appeared smaller. There is always a "settling in" period after filler injection. I hope this information is helpful.
