This needs an in-person evaluation. Keep in mind, for best results, it is recommended to be at your ideal or stable weight before getting a sculpting liposuction procedure. Liposuction is not a weight loss procedure, rather it is for sculpting and defining and removing problem areas that cannot be removed with weight loss and diet / exercise alone. With skin laxity, a tummy tuck or lifting procedure could be performed at the same time. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a bariatric doctor or dietitian. Best, Dr. Emer

Lacey.  I completely understand your particular circumstances, but liposuction is not for you at this time. Ideally, you should try to lower your BMI to below 30 before considering surgery. Also, your significant medical history should be an issue With regard to elective surgery. All of your medical issues would improve if you lose the weight, and then your medical doctor may consider clearing you for liposuction, if needed. Best of luck.

One of the requirements of liposuction is to be in overall good health. Given that you have high blood pressure and COPD, I think it’s best that you consult a licensed physician first so that he can properly evaluate your condition and determine whether or not you’re fit for liposuction.

You are much too overweight to get a good result from any type of liposuction. You absolutely need to loose a significant amount of weight before considering any type of liposuction. Even though Smartlipo is done under local anesthetic, you should be in good health too. you would need to make sure you BP is well controlled before liposuction etc.good luckdavid berman
