Is it possible to have the dorsal hump removed while keeping the general appearance of my face the same? (Photos)

You absolutely can have the hump removed, and the tip telescoped and fortified so it does not droop, but you will still look like yourself. I think rhinoplasty is one of the most beautifying surgeries that we do as plastic surgeons. A large portion of my practice is dedicated to rhinoplasty surgery. It is important to only see plastic surgeons with extensive experience in rhinoplasty, ie perform at least 6 per month and have performed hundreds of cases. Your concerns of a dorsal hump, improving a droopy tip, and bringing the tip closer to your face are excellent reasons to undergo a surgical rhinoplasty. The combination of removing a dorsal hump, improving rotation (correcting a droopy tip) and deprojecting your tip (bringing it closer to your face), will result in a natural rhinoplasty result.

One of the primary goals of nose reshaping is to remove a dorsal hump. This is usually made up mainly of cartilage and bone and is located in the middle third of the nose. In order to remove the dorsal hump, the doctor may choose to use an osteotome which is a chisel device to cut bone, or use a fine surgical rasp to rasp the bone. This allows correcting the patient's profile.

What can be done with your nose? As you point out, you have an over projecting tip and a small dorsal hump. I do not see a drooping of the tip but that usually occurs with a big smile. All of these changes can be brought about during a standard rhinoplasty. Changing the nose does not change any other features of your face

These can all be addressed with a rhinoplasty. A well executed rhinoplasty should also appear natural. This means, the nose fits the patient's face and maintains the patient's identity after surgery. The nose itself should also look natural, and not overly scooped (excess dorsal reduction) or pig-like (excess rotation with increased nostril show on front view).
