Would BodyTite be appropriate for removing fat and tightening my upper arms? (photos)

I am interested in removing fat and tightening my upper arms. Would BodyTite be appropriate in fixing this or another procedure such as Smartlipo? I am 32 years old, 5'4 and 126 pounds.

For arm contouring, it is important to consider the degree of adipose excess and skin laxity. If you have no loose skin and just a small amount of fat, liposuction alone might be adequate. If you have a lot of loose skin, excising this in the form of a brachioplasty might be the best option. If you are somewhere in between - which a lot of people are - BodyTite with liposuction to the upper arms would allow you to tighten skin (without accepting the prominent brachioplasty scar) and debulk excess fat in a minimally invasive fashion.

Bodytite is a minimally invasive procedure that utilizes radio frequency to tighten the skin, while removing fat as well with liposuction. You will wear a compression garment for about 30 days to help the skin retract.

At your age, unless you have lost a great deal of weight, the skin should be tight enough to simply be able to get a gray result from liposuction without any type of tissue tightening procedures. On the other hand if you have lost weight, then J plasma tissue tightening would be in order. I would recommend an in person consultation to determine what procedure will suit you best. Thank you for your question. This is Dr. James Fernau from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In your case, I think you would see great results from BodyTite. BodyTite tightens and tones loose skin that doesn’t go away with diet and exercise alone. Using radiofrequency energy technology to aid in internal fat lipolysis and external collagen contraction, BodyTite works in multiple ways to treat the affected areas. Radiofrequency (RF) energy flows from the internal cannula towards the external electrode placed on the skin surface.  RF power is regulated based upon online measurements of skin temperature and tissue impedance. The heat generated around the cannula tip coagulates blood vessels and liquefies fat to reduce post-operative pain bruising and edema. Uniform RF thermal exposure aids, smoothes and evens contour results. Thermal contraction of fibrous septae and dermal collagen results in immediate contouring which continues to improve over the next six months. It is a minimally invasive device that patients are typically very satisfied with. Recovery is usually 1-2 days but can be up to 10 days depending on the person.
