Can Bodytite create an hourglass silhouette? (Photo)

Question

Pregnancy has caused the skin around my abdomen and flank to stretch; accompanying this is abdominal separation, I am left with a rectangular shape. I am considering Bodytite for my upper and lower abdomen; for best result should Bodytite be conducted on the flanks as well to achieve an hourglass figure? Or any other location.

Since Bodytite is done in with liposuction as well, the more area around the abdomen that is suctioned the more the skin can shrink in around it. Some of the best results for getting an hourglass shape is by doing Lipo 360 with Bodytite. This was you maximize the skin shrinking into your body all the way around.

Great Question! BodyTite will enhance your natural figure and reduce excess fat. You may be able to contour the hip area to create a more hourglass shape with liposuction techniques, but it can only enhance the natural shape of your hips and body. Liposuction, combined with a TT, will allow you to have stubborn fat resistant to exercise and diet removed from unwanted areas (abdomen, flanks). A TT with muscle tightening will create a flat abdomen and would also provide the benefit of placing your incision along the lower pubic region. The TT also creates a more youthful belly button. If the waist was smaller at one time, the waist can likely be reduced to those same measurements or smaller provided the muscular and fascial integrity has remained the same. You have loose skin and a relaxed abdominal wall due to the pregnancy. This will only be minimally helped with any nonsurgical option. You most likely need a full tummy tuck with diastasis repair. However you should wait if you plan any more children. Good luck.

Thank you for your questions and photos. The rectangular shape after pregancy is caused by rectus diastasis or separation of the rectus abdominus muscles. BodyTite work by using radiofrequency to shrink wrap the tissues. Although it can achieve on average 40% tightening, it will not treat the rectus diastasis or give you the S curve or hourglass shape back. In order to address this, the muscles would need to be surgically repaired. I recommend you schedule a consultation with a board certified Plastic Surgeon. Bodytite and ThermiTight are radio-frequency energy skin tightening devices providing a reasonable but limited amount of skin contraction and certainly no “hour-glass” appearance.

Your photos illustrate a petite appearing body with narrow pelvis. In order to achieve the “hour-glass” appearance you desire, you will need a corset abdominoplasty (maybe some added liposuction circumferentially and if there is enough, using the harvested fat as fat graft to the upper – outer buttock for width) and with that, you may be disappointed by the lack of difference between your waist and your hip width but each patient’s expectations are different!
