A Body Lift is designed to remove loose skin and related fat deposits to create a more pleasing contour. This procedure can be applied to the lower torso and upper legs including the abdomen, waist, outer thighs, buttocks, and/or hips. Liposuction may also be completed in conjunction with a body lift. The improvements may be dramatic.
Hi, thank you for your question regarding does a 360 circumferential lower body lift or belt lipectomy also lift the thighs. The answer is "yes" and "no". During a 360 circumferential lower body lift, excess lower abdominal, outer thigh, and upper buttock skin and fat are removed. After this excess skin and fat is removed, the tissues are carefully re-approximated. During this re-approximation of tissue, the abdomen is pulled down and the outer thighs and buttocks are lifted. By removing and putting back together this centralized area of excess lower torso skin and fat, the result is a tight, flat abdomen with a lifted and ideally, shapely outer thighs and buttocks. Therefore, the 360 circumferential lower body lift only truly elevates the lateral or outer thighs, not the inner thighs. During a tummy tuck or abdominoplasty, excess abdominal skin and fat are removed, the rectus abdominis muscles are tightened, and the pubic region (mons or FUPA) is raised and reduced. As the name implies, a tummy tuck only addresses the tummy, not the thighs. However, a thigh lift would correct the thighs. During a thigh lift, thigh liposuction is performed, the inner thigh is opened, and an elliptical area of excess thigh skin and fat is removed. Then, the inner thigh is re-approximated. Usually, a medial or inner thigh lift can be performed at the same time as as a 360 circumferential lower body lift or tummy tuck. If you have any more questions regarding the lower body lift, 360 circumferential lower body lift, belt lipectomy, belt abdominoplasty, or belt dermolipectomy please contact my office. Since the body lift is a big procedure, please seek an experienced, board certified plastic surgeon with significant experience performing the lower body lift. Do your research. Make sure they have performed at least 100 circumferential lower body lift surgeries and have the before and after pictures to prove it. Carefully examine their before and after pictures and check their reviews on RealSelf. If you cannot find an experienced, lower body lift surgeon in your neighborhood, consider traveling out of state if you must. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen. Dear mariefahmi, during tummy tuck plastic surgeon will remove the excess skin from abdomen and tighten the muscles. However, tummy tuck will not lift your thighs. You will need thigh lift to get thighs lifted. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD
Hello and thank you for your question. A lower body lift helps lift the posterior and some on anterior thighs, as well as the buttock. Make sure you find a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who has experience in body lifts.
Great question! In our practice, a Lower Body Lift will pull up slightly on the upper thighs and buttocks. It will not be a dramatic result but it will be noticeable. It is much different than an actual thigh lift which involves larger incisions and skin excision. Most people who think that they need a thigh lift, actually don't! The lift they would receive during a Body Lift is sufficient, unless there is a very excessive amount of excess skin.I recommend scheduling a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to receive a customized plan of action. Best wishes!
Hi and welcome to our forum!A circumferential lower body lift (beltectomy) involves abdominoplasty with muscle repair, as well as removal of excess skin and soft tissue from the flanks, hips, and buttocks. This will lift the thighs anteriorly and laterally and the buttocks posteriorly as well as tighten hips and flanks. A medial thigh lift is required to lift the inner thigh. Seek a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon.Best wishes...
Thank you for your question. A body lift is a very powerful procedure for restoring the contour of the body including the thighs. A circular ring of skin and fat is removed, and the upper part is pulled down like a shirt and the lower part is pulled up like pants. This smooths out loose skin of the lower back and abdomen. It also lifts the buttocks, side of the thighs, front of the thighs and less so the inner thighs. Most weight loss patients start with this procedure because it is so effective in correcting so many areas in one step. For severe inner thigh skin laxity, a separate inner thighlift is sometimes necessary. I hope that helps! All the best!
