3 weeks post lower body lift - Penile and erectile issues? Hard to maintain erection post op and full size. Is this normal?

Im 27 years old and i got a lower body lift of lower back and tummy tuck with monsplasty and upper thigh lift with butt augmentation for symmetry. Its ben 3 weeks post op and it seems as if my penis has gotten smaller? It just looks shriveled, erections in the AM stopped happening. first week post op had a lot of swelling of penis and scrotum with some bruising. 2 weeks post op blood and pain to urinate (probably from foley) is this normal? Will i regain normal penile function and size?

It's important to remember that surgery is a significant stress on the body, and it can temporarily affect many aspects of normal function, including erectile function.

Swelling and bruising in the genital region can be common after a lower body lift and other surgeries involving the lower abdomen and upper thigh. This swelling could potentially give the impression of a smaller penile size temporarily. Likewise, the disruption to your normal routine and the physical stress of surgery might temporarily affect your erections.

However, these symptoms usually resolve as the body heals and swelling decreases. Typically, by 6-8 weeks post-operatively, swelling should be significantly reduced, and normal function should start to return.

In the meantime, it's important to stay in close contact with your surgeon. They can monitor your progress and address any concerns as they arise. If the issues persist, they may refer you to a urologist for further evaluation.

Remember, each person's healing process is different, and it can take time for the body to fully recover after such a significant procedure. I encourage you to remain patient and continue to communicate with your healthcare team.

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. There is a chance that your swelling is causing your issues. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment. Only after thorough examination you can get proper recommendations and advice.

Hello and thank you for your question .   It is normal to have penile and mons swelling after this type of surgery.   Once all the swelling goes down, erectile dysfunction should improve.  Compression is key.

Male patients can have penile swelling for several weeks after a lower body lift.  Scrotal support with elevation and supportive garments can significantly improve the swelling.  Heat and massage can help with unwanted bruising in the area and help with secondary swelling.  Erectile dysfunction should improve as the swelling dissipates.
