Liposuction could result in considerable swelling of your lower extremities which is were sclerotherapy is typically. The swelling would have a negative implant of the results of the sclerotherapy.
You can certainly have liposuction after having sclerotherapy done. You would want to make sure that there was sufficient time in between the sclero and the liposuction so that you are healed from the sclerotherapy (perhaps at least 4 to 6 weeks). I have to say, that 12 areas of liposuction sounds like a LOT. Make sure that your surgeon is not separating out areas (say the upper abdomen/middle abdomen/lower abdomen = 3 areas when it should = 1 area). If you truly have 12 areas to treat, you may need to consider weight loss, and also consider splitting them into 2-3 different sessions.
I must assume you are going to use your previous PS whom had operated upon you previously. SO why have you NOT asked him?
Your question is not clear, but liposuction can be performed after the sclerotherapy has calmed down. If you truly have 12 areas you wished to be treated with liposuction, you may have to do that in 2-3 sessions.
I suggest that you bring up your question to your plastic surgeon and to the provider who performed the sclerotherapy. The decision to proceed has to do with their level of comfort. As such, it is somewhat irrelevant what providers on RealSelf have to say. I don't see an inherent contraindication, but, like I said, check it out with your doctors. 12 areas seems like an awful lot. Hopefully you're not planning on having 12 areas liposuctioned in the same session. Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.
Hello! You need to discuss with your surgeon his/her recommendations to optimize recovery. Massage of the abdomen and waist with moisturizers (I love coconut oil!) or anti-bruising therapies like Arnica may help. Some surgeons recommend continued compression. I like to get my patients involved...
Liposuction pricing is dependent on a lot of things but mainly the expertise of the surgeon and how detailed the procedure. The type of liposuction shouldn't matter as the person using the tool is always better than any tool on its own. I have 5 different devices and customize my approach to...
Hospitals are notorious for getting MERS and other difficult to cure infections since that is where sick people go. Avoid hospitals and avoid general anesthesia and you will be better off.
Extra skin cannot be removed by liposuction - only extra fat can be removed using lipo. The best way to remove extra skin is to cut it out. Hard to say without a photo whether or not an extended brachioplasty will work or if it can be removed through a breast lift procedure. Please consider...
Thank you for submitting your question. Swelling after liposuction will last for many weeks and months after surgery. Final results take 6-12 months. The area above the belly button is very fibrous and the swelling will last longer. Minimizing activities, lymphatic massage,...
Thank you for submitting your question. Compression garment does help with the immediate swelling post liposuction. After 10-14 days you can switch to a contour garment which is more comfortable. Discuss your concerns with your surgeon and follow his/her recommendations. Best...
