Can I have a 12 areas liposuction procedure. Even if I had 5 sessions of sclerptherapy on my thighs ? Thanks
Answer: Liposuction Your question is not clear, but liposuction can be performed after the sclerotherapy has calmed down. If you truly have 12 areas you wished to be treated with liposuction, you may have to do that in 2-3 sessions.

Answer: Sclerotherapy Liposuction could result in considerable swelling of your lower extremities which is were sclerotherapy is typically. The swelling would have a negative implant of the results of the sclerotherapy.

Answer: Liposuction after sclerotherapy You can certainly have liposuction after having sclerotherapy done. You would want to make sure that there was sufficient time in between the sclero and the liposuction so that you are healed from the sclerotherapy (perhaps at least 4 to 6 weeks). I have to say, that 12 areas of liposuction sounds like a LOT. Make sure that your surgeon is not separating out areas (say the upper abdomen/middle abdomen/lower abdomen = 3 areas when it should = 1 area). If you truly have 12 areas to treat, you may need to consider weight loss, and also consider splitting them into 2-3 different sessions.

Answer: Can I have liposuction 3 weeks after sclerotherapy? I must assume you are going to use your previous PS whom had operated upon you previously. SO why have you NOT asked him?

Answer: 12 anatomic areas I suggest that you bring up your question to your plastic surgeon and to the provider who performed the sclerotherapy. The decision to proceed has to do with their level of comfort. As such, it is somewhat irrelevant what providers on RealSelf have to say. I don't see an inherent contraindication, but, like I said, check it out with your doctors. 12 areas seems like an awful lot. Hopefully you're not planning on having 12 areas liposuctioned in the same session. Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.
