I'm a 34 yr old Caucasian woman with prominent epicanthic folds & hooded lids. Aging seems to be further exaggerating my naturally hooded lids and making me appear old and tired. One Plastic surgeon said upper bleph is no problem, then an oculoplastic surgeon said no to upper Bleph and recommended a brow lift because of the epicanthic folds. How long will recovery take? I normally swell and bruise more than most people (another awesome trait). What can I do about creepy under eye area?
Answer: Blephaproplasty A blepharoplasty can be done to correct exces skin across your upper eyelid. For the epicanthal fold, a Z plasty can be done to eliminate it on both sides. Recovery takes 7-10 days including swelling and bruising.

Answer: The person who told you that upper blepharoplasty is no problem is pulling your leg. You have interesting upper eyelids. The upper eyelid margin almost looks retracted. You have a secondary fold in the right upper eyelid. The folds are very full and rest very low on the eyelid platforms. You have always had very full upper eyelid folds. You are currently doing your own forehead lift. I would be very careful about having a forehead lift. I think you can get what you need with a very thoughtful upper blepharoplasty. Those natural folds can be damaged by over aggressive upper blepharoplasty. I would not recommend surgery on your epicanthal folds.

Answer: Endoscopic Brow Lift and Eyelid Surgery Thank you for your question. It appears that you have a combination of droopiness of the brows and excess upper eyelid skin. You would need a physical exam to confirm this. I was one of the pioneers of endoscopic Brow Lift surgery. I've lectured nationally and internationally on the subject. This is a great operation. One makes small incisions in the scalp. A tv camera is inserted. The surgery is performed while watching television. Pain and recovery are minimal when compared to traditional techniques. For more information please watch the enclosed video. I hope you find this information useful.

Answer: Upper lid blepharoplasty You have some excess upper lid skin which can be removed with a blepharoplasty. This will not improve the epicanthal folds, and if not done correctly could make them more prominent. Best to see an oculoplastic surgeon who will have expertise in this. Your brow height looks fine in this photo.
