How to massage lower eyelids after transconjunctival bleph?

Hi, I had a transconjunctival bleph done three weeks ago, visible swelling has almost subsided with just a little bruising left as well. I can feel my left eyelid is tight like it's being pulled down from scar tissue, how do I massage this area in the correct way to encourage the scar tissue to not pull my eyelid down?

Something not normal is going on with the healing of your eyelid surgery. It is not normal to have lower eyelid compromise after transconjunctival lower eyelid surgery.  Eyelid massage is not something you should undertake on your own in consultation with random internet advice even from Realself.  Please get the help you need.  You are obviously having a surgical complication.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having some trouble after your procedure.  Even in the best hands and with otherwise uncomplicated surgery, we cannot predict how a particular patient is going to heal.  Sometimes, internal or external scarring can lead to the lids not return to their normal positions after surgery.  Massage is a useful tool, but it is difficult to explain how to do it or if it will help without evaluating you in person (or at least a photograph).  Please make sure that your surgeon is aware of your condition.  They will know your anatomy and case the best.  Good luck!

This feeling to tightness is unusual  but not unheard of.  You really should see your surgeon or get an additional opinion in person.  I do at times have patients massage after lower eyelid surgery as part of their after care starting at around three weeks and it's typically just a gentle lift and hold for about 30-60 seconds 7-10 a day with 2-3 fingers for even pressure and tension along the full length of the lower eyelid.  All that being said, you should be evaluated BEFORE starting any massage.
