I had a septorhinoplasty, turbinate reduction and septal perforation repair. I am 9 days post op and had the stents and bandages removed yesterday. I could breathe great for like 12 hours but now I’m having to rely on mouth breathing because my nose is so scabby inside. The consultant has said just to use a saline rinse once a day but I feel that this just isn’t enough. I forgot to ask about blowing my nose, when would I be able to blow my nose without damaging the septal perforation repair?

Hi jocean11, It generally takes 6-12 months to see the final result of a rhinopolasty procedure and during that time, you may still see reduction on your nose tip. Steroid injection can be used to reduce the thickness but it is also not advisable without proper evaluation.
Be sure to check with your surgeon regarding their recommendations. Personally, I would recommend that my patients wait another few weeks before proceeding with these types of activities because doing things like wearing a snorkeling mask, jumping in and out of water, etc are high risk for...
This is a great question. It is normal to have some numbness around any incision line, but this will improve over months. The lip mobility issue is not commonly seen after rhinoplasty, but likely will fully recover as well.
