Since childhood, I’ve head extra skin at the outer corner of my eye, making my eyes more downturned. I believe I have a heavy crease. What procedure is the correct one to get rid of this extra overhang of skin at the corners of my eyes?
Answer: Please be careful what you look for. Upper blepharoplasty can remove the lateral hood fullness. But it will damage the harmony of your upper eyelids and take away some of the fold that helps give your eyes a natural double fold characteristic. The extension of the upper fold incision laterally to pick up this "extra" tissue will leave a permanent scar in that area that most are very unsatisfactory. Sub-brow excision surgery to lift the upper eyelid fold is increasingly popular with surgeons because they avoid complications with restructuring the upper eyelid fold, the traditional approach to double fold surgery. Unfortunately surgeons often over estimate their ability to deliver an "invisible" incision at the eyebrow boarder. These incisions are often visible and unsatisfactory.

Answer: Need to come in to consult For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in-person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Blepharoplasty Hi @Adventurous640450! Thank you for sending your photos. It appears that you have extra skin on your upper eyelids. You would be a great candidate for a blepharoplasty. The procedure is quite simple and can be performed under local anesthesia. Best of luck!
