14 days since surgery and I developed Chemosis in both eyes almost immediately and whilst it’s not getting any worse it’s definitely not getting any better either. I have steroid drops, ointment and cover my eyes every night. The Chemosis doesn’t worry me as much as the retraction which looks hideous. My ps said it will get better as the Chemosis goes away. I guess I’m looking for reassurance that he’s right. Please help.

Lower eyelid ectropion or retraction repair should NOT make the eyes smaller with proper canthoplasty technique. Most of the work should be on the lower eyelids themselves rather than the canthus.
