I am 15 days post op with 325cc high profile silicone unders. Pre op, I am 5'6, 125 lbs. quite petite on top, with hips. I wore a B cup bra although never really filled it out. I expected to be high and tight post op but never really had any upper fullness or even much on the inner side of my nipple. Mostly on the putter portion of my nipple towards my armpit? Although this has improved some, I seem very small with no side projection at all. Will this improve over time?

Answer: Why don't my high profile implants project?? Why do my results look so different from anything I have seen?? I'm sorry to hear about the concerns you have after breast augmentation surgery. Keep in mind, that your plastic surgeon will be your best resource when it comes to clinical evaluation, determining whether everything is progressing as planned, and helping you with predictions and/or reassurance. Although online consultants will not be able to help you with accurate predictions, some general thoughts may be helpful to you. You should be aware that it is not unusual for patients to feel that they are “too small” or “too big”, early on after breast augmentation surgery. Most patients who feel this way ultimately are pleased with the results of surgery. For example, many patients who feel that they are too small immediately after surgery find, as the breast implants “drop and fluff”, that the breasts actually appear larger to them. For this reason, I routinely ask my patients to wait at least 3-6 months before evaluating the end results of the breast augmentation surgery. This waiting time allows patients to (usually) physically and psychologically adapt to the new body image. From the physiological standpoint, it takes many months ( and even up to one year) to see the final results of surgery. factors such as swelling, tissue contraction, skin redraping, implant shifting etc. come into play. From the psychological standpoint, patients undergo an “adaptation period" during which time they get used to the changes that the surgical procedure has brought about. Severe emotional swings can also occur after any type of surgical procedure.
Obviously, it is best for patients not to be making important decisions ( for example about the results of surgery and/or the need for additional surgery) while they are experiencing these emotional “ups and downs”. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be pleased with in the longer term.

Answer: Projection after breast augmentation Without photos, it is difficult to comment on your results. However, having said that, just remember that it takes a good 3-4 months for your implants to settle and for you to see your final shape. If you are not happy with your results at that point, please voice your concerns with your operating surgeon. Good luck!

Answer: Disappointed with early results You should voice your concerns to your surgeon. Did your surgeon pick the size for you or did you do this? And as for the profile, was it the appropriate implant for your chest dimensions? Finally, how were the implants placed? Technique has a big impact on outcome. Regardless, if you do not feel you got what you conveyed to your surgeon as your goals, you should ask your surgeon if your goals have been met as recorded in his consultation.

Answer: Why don't my high profile implants project? Fifteen days is relatively soon after surgery. I would be patient because it can take 1 - 3 months to see the final result. That time frame is based on the size implants and on your starting size and whether or not you have had any pregnancies or if you breast fed.Your implants may not project as much as you want but the high profile implants project the most of the commonly used implants.Best of luck and continue to follow up closely with you plastic surgeon.
