Can I get dermal lip fillers with a scar on lip? (Photo)

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs. Although you can receive fillers, the scar tissue will not stretch as well as the non-scarred skin and care must be taken to not create greater asymmetry. Another option to improve upon the contour is through a surgical revision of the scar. The best treatment is based on your goals.

I think lip filler would help but an in person consult would be needed to see how firm the scar is.. It might be necessary to surgically remove the scar first.

You can definitely have a plastic surgeon try to even out your lip with fillers but I would recommend that you have a revision of your lip scar before attempting to fill the lip out. Sellers may or may not be helpful for making your lips look better. Areas that are contracted by scar tissue may not respond Normally to fillers. It looks like there’s an area of fullness on your right upper lip. Perhaps a surgical revision of your lip could help.

If you decide to move forward you should try to find a senior plastic surgeon who does their own filler and Botox work and has ample experience and approve it and track record with facial aesthetics.

Hi there, thank you for your question and photos. I've actually treated patients with a scar on the lip with dermal fillers. It was done in several stages as we needed to break the scar tissue first (usually with a cannula) to make space for the dermal filler. We first started with the softest dermal filler just to see how it spreads or how the tissue will take it before proceeding with the usual lip filler which is slightly more dense. I would also want to palpate your scar tissue because from your picture, it looks like there is an area that is hypertrophic which can be soften or flatten by kenalog (steroid) injection. That is how I would approach your treatment. Hope that helps.
