Is it okay to travel after Breast augmentation?

Thanks for the question. You should be able to go on vacation by 3-4 weeks after your surgery. But this is valid only with assuming postoperative recovery is uneventful. If any unexpected incident happens in your treatment process, this time can be extended or shortened. I wish you all the best.

You should be ok to travel by taxi and train after your surgery. Make sure your surgeon knows what you are planning as he may have a different opinion.

Hello, I would recommend speaking to your PS about your travel plans.  They would be aware of your risk factors for a complication, and any techniques they have to reduce your risks.

Opinions on travel following a surgical procedure will differ amongst surgeons and is best to discuss this with your surgeon. I typically recommend staying in the area for 7 days after a breast augmentation, just to make sure that all is well, and that there are no signs of early complications before you head home. There is no way to know if there will be any complications with your surgery, but you might want to consider rescheduling with another surgeon in your area. It is better to be safe than sorry. All the best,Dr. JSB

I assume you mean Burmingham , England. If so , yes you should be fine. If you live in Birmingjam , AL, USA , you should have your surgery in the US. Best to you. 

there are lot of risks involving a Plastic Surgery and even a smooth and short 1:30 hours ride can increase them. stay at least 3 days in London and then get back home.

Although travel is safe after a couple of days I do not recommend travel the very next day. Additionally, you live here in the USA, and metropolitan Birmingham has a wonderful selection of board certified plastic surgeons. I strongly suggest you stay closer to home and reconsider your choice. Its a long trip back to London if you have any difficulties after surgery. Good luck and be well.

Thank you for your question about travelling after having a breast augmentation.  Generally speaking I have my out of town patients remain in town for a few days post procedure.   Since the majority of our breast augmentation patients have the rapid recovery breast augmentation this tends to work well and they have the chance to enjoy our city for a few days in a relaxing enviornment.  If you have doubts about travelling so soon after your procedure why not ask the surgeon or nurse what do they do in case you have any issues post procedure.  If you feel confident with your surgeon that is the most important and as long as the surgeon is board certified and a member of the ASPS you should be in great hands.  Best of luck to you (and consider refraining from heavy lifting after your procedure).
