Thank you for sharing your question. Either mode of transportation will be fine to make it home after your procedure. Based on your tummy tuck you will want to sit with your back and legs elevated so typically best to be in the front seat with pillows under your knees, and the back reclined. Hope this helps.
We routinely perform outpatient tummy tuck and body lift type procedures on healthy patients without difficulty. For patients who live within 30min drives, I will let drive home. Longer commutes can be challenging after a tummy tuck, and we have those patients stay in a hotel next to our surgery center. We have never seen the need to have a nurse spend the night post surgery with a patient after cosmetic surgery. If I felt they need that type of monitoring I would schedule the procedure at a hospital with an overnight stay.
Ideally it would be most comfortable for a patient to be driven home in an SUV after TT and liposuction of the flanks. Good luck Best, #drburnett #realself100
I think that as long as you have enough help, getting in or out of either type of vehicle, you will be just fine. Staying in the flexed position with the help of lots of pillows etc. will be necessary. In my practice, I highly recommend the services of a postoperative nurse to help with the transfer and the immediate post care. Best wishes.
Thank you for your question. Typically after TT and lipo, he most comfortable position is a beach chair reclined position. It is also difficult to do anything that requires your core. Therefore, going home in a car that is not too low or not too high with the seat in a reclined position would be best for you. Good luck!
A car is easier to get in and out of out. However, many patients go home in a SUV quite comfortably.
It would be better not to have to pull yourself into the SUV versus just stepping into the car. The car would be more comfortable to get you home. Good luck!
I would guess a car, being lowered to the ground would be easier to fall into then having to pull yourself up into the height of a common SUV. It's nice to have a choice though. Good luck with your surgery.
It is best to ask your board certified plastic surgeon who did your surgery. I do not tie knots in suture like that. It appears to be placed there specifically, perhaps to be removed at a later date? This is not what a spitting suture looks like. It is best to talk with your surgeon - even a p...
It is usually recommended to keep the JP drains in until there is less than 30 mL over 24 hours. The time the JP drain is in can range from 1 to 3 weeks. Every patient is different and it is up to your surgeon to determine when your JP drain needs to come out. Most patients can...
You have pain because you have an open wound. The right side looks to have healthy tissue but the incision has opened up and that is why it hurts. That is normal, but I would ask how long your surgeon thinks it will take to heal. I am guessing many weeks, or is the surgeon planning to try and...
