My husband is in a wheelchair. I lift his chair in and out of the car everyday for us to go places. I'd say it weighs a minimum of 30 lbs. How long after surgery will I be able to lift his chair?
Answer: When can I lift a 30lbs wheelchair after breast explant and lift? It's essential to prioritize your recovery and follow your plastic surgeon's guidance after a breast explant and lift surgery. Generally, you should avoid lifting heavy objects, including a 30-pound wheelchair, for several weeks following surgery. The exact timing can vary based on individual factors such as the extent of the surgery, your overall health, and your plastic surgeon's recommendations. Typically, lifting restrictions can last for about 4-6 weeks after surgery to allow your body to heal properly and minimize the risk of complications such as bleeding, wound separation, or implant displacement. It's crucial to consult with your plastic surgeon for guidance regarding when it's safe for you to lift heavy objects like a wheelchair. They can provide specific guidelines based on your unique circumstances and monitor your progress throughout the recovery process. Always prioritize your health and safety during the post-operative period.

Answer: Surgery Please ask your surgeon this question, but I would say about 3 weeks before you can do that much lifting daily. You might consider a travel wheelchair since they are much lifter and easier to get in and out of the chair.
