Does keloid or hypertrophic scar form after 3 weeks of mole removal?

I have mole removed 3 weeks back and I have an slight swelling on one edge of wound and pinksh and itching.can it be hypertrophic scar or keloid? I am getting fear about it

Thank you for your question and for sharing your experience.  If the mole has been removed and deemed benign there is no reason to have additional margins taken unless the physician is concerned about a sampling error - essentially the portion removed and analyzed may not have been cancerous, ...

I suggest you see an expert to determine if these need biopsy or not.  General skin check yearly helps limit the chance of a cancer spreading (catches them earlier than later).  Best, Dr. Emer.
