A surgeon tried to give me some kind of ab etching which i hate. I told him no to that in the first place. I have already consulted and due to the lines being wide and smooth with fat underneath, it can be reversed with more lipo. I wonder if i should be at a low or higher bodyfat for the procedure since my weight fluctuates of around 15 pounds naturally (12% bodyfat to around 18/20%). Do you think being at the lowest bodyfat will make it easier for the surgeon to fix and smooth my abdomen fat
Answer: Abdomen I would suggest be at your lowest weight so that not too much fat is removed like was done with etching.

Answer: A thorough liposuction really depends on the surgeon. Your body fat percentage is not what determines a good lipo result. It is the surgeons ability to really know what he/she is doing. Using the micro canulas under local with a little iv sedation for complete comfort and the addition of bodytiteRF with morpheus really makes all the difference in the world in the right hands. Your doc needs to stand you up during the procedure to be able to fine tune the results.

Answer: Correcting previous high definition, Liposuction, a.k.a. etching Correcting poorly done Liposuction is difficult and sometimes not possible. Some of the most difficult cases to improve from previous aggressively Liposuction, especially high definition of work, a.k.a. etching. Recognize that any attempt at improving Liposuction results can make things worse leading to further deformity. Revision liposuction is many times more difficult than primary Liposuction. Often only minor improvements are possible. Delivering consistent quality Liposuction results is more difficult than most people realize. The number of plastic surgeons who approach mastery of Liposuction is in reality quite small. The importance for provider selection cannot be emphasized in Liposuction. Provider selection becomes even more important when it comes to revision work, considering that it is much more difficult and complex than primary procedures. There’s no particular benefit to gaining or losing weight unless you are obese.I encourage all patients to vet plastic surgeons carefully before scheduling permanent irreversible body contouring procedures. Consult with more plastic surgeons than you may think necessary in order to find the best provider. During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before, and after pictures of previous patients who had similar body characteristics to your own. Bring pictures of your body to use as a reference during each consultation. Highly experienced plastic surgeons should have access 100 or preferably thousands of before and after pictures to choose from. And the hands of the right provider there should be more before and after pictures for you to review then you have time for during the consultation. There’s no correct number of consultations needed to find the right provider. The more consultations you schedule the more likely you are to find the better provider for your needs. The biggest mistake I see patients make is having only one consultation and then scheduling surgery. Scheduling only one consultation, more or less eliminates the ability to choose a better provider. Provider selection for cosmetic surgery is a bit like location for real estate. It is by far the most important variable. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
