I had liposuction of the arms abdomen flank thighs 2 yrs ago. I have irregularities of my abdomen upper arm and thighs, trying to consider options. I do understand it’s best to go in person however I live in a very rural area and it’s hours away from another surgeon. Looking for suggestions of corrective options so I can find the right physician. 5’7, 148 pounds
Answer: Liposuction Your fat was not removed evenly. Some areas might have a small excess amount, but many areas need more volume. Sculptra injections or fat infections could be done. Please find someone who does this in scarred areas. it may take 2 to 3 sessions.

Answer: Best way to correct liposuction lumps? Sorry to hear that you're experiencing these issues. Unfortunately, it's harder to fix bumps than it is to do it right the fist time. The best thing to do is touch up liposuction, using small cannulas and small incisions. However, your abdomen looks to me like you've had Laser or Ultrasonic (Vaser) liposuction. If this is the case, fixing the lumpy, uneven appearance can be even harder due to the scar tissue that those types of liposuction create. Skin tightening using Morpheus Body may also be of help.

Answer: Liposuction revision or correcting poorly done previous work Correcting poorly done Liposuction is very difficult and the potential for improvement varies based on the patient’s initial candidacy for the procedure and how the procedure was performed. The mostCorrecting poorly done Liposuction is very difficult, and the potential fir improvement varies based on the patient’s initial candidacy for the procedure and how the procedure was performed. The most difficult cases to improve are on patients who were previously over treated and we’re not great candidates for Liposuction in the first place. The biggest variable that lowers someone’s candidacy for liposuction is skin laxity or loss of skin elasticity which is usually due to age, Weight loss or previous pregnancies for the abdomen. Patients have been over treated and have contour irregularities are by far the most challenging to treat. Revision work is many times more difficult and complex compared to primary Liposuction. Generally speaking, partial improvements are the best patients can usually hope for. For patients who’ve been over treated as sometimes needed. The success of this treatment goes down significantly if someone has been aggressively over treated. In order for fat transfer to give results patient may need multiple treatments. Whether attempting to improve the results is worth it is a fairly difficult and complex thing to decide. is it worth spending thousands of dollars to have only subtle improvements? You should also realize that any attempts and improving Liposuction results can make things worse. If the problem was removing too much fat, then revision Liposuction can simply just make it worse. The reason, fat is not effective is because the areas that need volume have insufficient amounts of host tissue to support the grafted fat, causing fat grafting to often not be successful. By far the most important variable for both Liposuction and revision work is provider selection. To find a sufficiently experience provider may require having multiple in person consultations. I highly recommend avoiding virtual consultations and always insisting on in person consultations. Because there is a real risk of making things worse You really need to be careful moving forward with any attempts at revision surgery. For some people, even small improvements are justified regardless of expense for other people it’s not worth it or the risk benefit ratio is not justified. I wish I could be more optimistic, but this kind of work is inherently very difficult. I focused my work exclusively on Liposuction and fat transfer for the last 15 years. Delivering consistent quality, liposuction, and results is more difficult than most people realize. The number of plastic surgeons who approach mastery of this procedure is in reality quite small.Revision surgery is even more difficult. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
