I have had several different surgeries over the past 3 years. Donut lift (no implant) and rhinoplasty. Both surgeries have required additional surgery due to spitting stiches and infection. My areolas are a mess of stretched scars. I want to fix them and the doctor recommends a lollipop lift but WHAT SUTURES WILL NOT SPIT? Otherwise I'm just creating more problems.

Answer: Redo a donut mastopexy / breast lift Often the issue when a donut / concentric / Benelli mastopexy doesn't turn out is that the tissues were too gathered. It is often possible to convert these lifts to lifts where the geometry of the skin is more favorable. There are also suture choices that minimize the chance of spitting.

Answer: Breast revision Hello and thank you for your question. The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. Based on your description, you will benefit from a revision. I use monocryl sutures underneath the skin, which do not tend to spit. This decision should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. FACS Harvard-trained plastic surgeon
