What is causing this inflamed, itchy rash to form around the incisions of my breast lift? Could it be the stitches under my skin

I understand your concern. However, it is difficult to assess your incision site especially without pictures for reference. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon to have yourself properly assessed. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

You did not include photos, but your description is classic for a yeast infection in the skin that arises from killing all the natural skin bacteria with triple antibiotic ointment. We do not allow patients to use that ointment after surgery for this very reason. Stop the ointment and in a few days the rash will be gone.

It is not uncommon for patients to develop an itchy rash from using the antibiotic ointments over a long period. You should check with your surgeon and discuss discontinuing the use of antibiotic ointments.
