I had liposuction of the abdomen done 2 years ago and the "swelling" that dropped down to my mons pubis never resolved. 6 months ago I had additional liposuction done to reduce the mound and "break up scar tissue", but still see no results. My dermatologic surgeon said it was likely all scar tissue. What procedure can be done to remove these 2-3 inches of scar tissue causing the MASSIVE protrusion? I am so self conscious-- the bulge shows through dresses and yoga pants almost like a penis :(
Answer: Surgery It seems like you had a complication (seroma most likely). There is only one thing to do which is surgery; you need to be examined and evaluated by a plastic surgeon. Surgical excision will flatten that area.

Answer: Liposuction complications Thank you for your photo. There appears to be a build-up of volume in the mons area. This is mostly likely filled filled with fluid, fat, scar tissue or a combination of all three. It is best to have an in-office examination by a plastic surgeon to determine exactly what is the cause and the quality and condition of your overlying skin. You will most likely need a revision surgery through your existing scar to directly remove the volume with excision. Further liposuction will not be be able to resolve the entire issue, especially if you have already tried that option. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Lee, MD Plastic Surgery
