You can wear an underwire bra now and it should not interfere with healing. However, I recommend another alternative called The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation and the ability to breast feed are maintained, if not injured during your previous surgery. At the same time or later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
Each plastic surgeon has a preference for the type of bra to wear following a breast lift. The bra worn should not place any tension or pressure on the incisions. Sports bras may be OK for the first six weeks. Recommend that you email or phone your surgeon's office to ask what he/she prefers and schedule a follow-up to discuss the sagging you are experiencing.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Hello,As long as it doesn't hurt, you can wear an underwire bra. This will not help your recurrent sagging. Although you give little details about your surgery or photographs, based on my assumption that your lift was performed without resection of breast tissue, your breast tissue is still too dense or heavy, and is simply re-expanding the skin. Bras won't help. Best of luck!
There is no right or wrong answer here. I recommend underwire bras to stabilize the implant position after these types of surgeries, provided the incisions are healed. Some plastic surgeons however do not advise underwire bras. I would discuss with your plastic surgeon to see what they advise based on your surgery and how you are healing.
This is a very difficult question to answer and it is best suited to ask your surgeon. Your surgeon is the only one who knows what was done during your surgery.Every surgeon has a different timeline for when their patients can start wearing an underwire bra. My timeline is very different for a patient who had a primary breast augmentation vs a revision breast augmentation. And even within the primary group, my timeline varies there as well.Hope that helps.
Dear Malena559,Every surgeon has a preferred type of bra that they let their patients wear after breast augmentation, as this would depend on various factors like the type of surgery performed and the size of the implant used. You should discuss your concerns with your plastic surgeon and follow his or her advice. I typically allow my breast lift patients who have an anchor pattern type of incision to consider wearing an underwire bra 6-8 weeks after surgery, as this is when the incisions are completely closed and strong enough to endure any type of friction. Each surgeon has his/her own preferences, so I would ask your surgeon first before donning an underwire bra.
Thank you for your question. You can start using your regular bra after 6 weeks, if you still have pain using it, please contact your surgeon .Now the bra doesn't protect you from shagging .And maybe this shagging your referring is just how the tissue is suppose to settle .
