Who does a modified lip lift?

Dear mad90,without an examination or photo it is hard to tell which procedure would be a good choice for you. Finding the right Dr. is extremely challenging especially with the number of online platforms and resources available. There a lot of great Dr's available. There is no one indication, nor one technique for lip lift.  We modify every lip lift based on each individual's presenting anatomy, desired results, and reconciliation of geometric factors involved.  For example, lip lift is among many truly three dimensional operations plastic surgeons perform;  depending on width of nasal base, width of lips, areas of lips that need lifting, and nasal sill morphology where scar is concealed, the excision, soft tissue adjustments, and closure are designed to unite axial, coronal, and sagittal planes to achieve aesthetic goals in the most natural way.  Sometimes, widening nasal base (nostrils) a bit is a great enhancement, because this makes the nasal tip appear smaller (example at link) without touching the nose.  If you don't want widening of nostrils, the lip lift can be designed to prevent this... but you may sacrifice other aspects of the result.  Our scarless lip lift is performed usually at the same time as another operation, peripyriform augmentation or rhinoplasty.  Cost of procedure in our office depends on duration: if the procedure is minimalist, it is often less than $3500, but my preference is NOT to operate on patients from out of town because distance presents an obstacle to follow up.  Patients who travel for surgery often do not follow up for necessary attention when issues arise after the procedure.  Those individuals sometimes don't even know there is an issue, and that follow up treatment is indicated.  Traveling patients are at higher risk of a poor outcome, and become dissatisfied with a result that would have been improved had they traveled again to manage developing problems.
