Hollow cheeks, Chiseled jawline, reshape face? Difference between custom and normal implants? (photos))

Question

Chin is very small whilst cheeks are quite full resulting in round/triangular face. Makes my already narrow small eyes look smaller. also ruins my smile: my cheeks stick out whilst chin moves back. I don’t like my cheek bones as they diagonal making my outer corner eyes look sharper. I want a look similar to that of the models as they have flat cheeks and horizontal cheekbones. Are custom implants a necessity as I really want good results that will make me more handsome without huge expense

I prefer to use custom implants for the mandibular angle and other unique deformities of the head and face (deformities secondary to trauma, congenital, or pathologic). The silicone implants that are available for cheeks and chins and temporal regions come in a variety of shapes and sizes and can be customized at the time of surgery. The cost is significantly increased with custom implants. Most surgeons use the implants that are available and re-shape them as needed during surgery. This allows us to create unique and individual implants without the added expense.

Custom vs. normal cheek implants. You don’t need custom implants. Regular cheek implants can be trimmed for an unusual problem. The most important part is seeing a very experienced cheek implant surgeon who does natural results.

One does not need manufactured custom implants but every implant should be recontoured at the time of surgery to ensure the agreed upon appearance you seek is appropriate. In other words one cannot rely upon standard sizes for a corrected contour since the soft tissue varies on thickness, the bone contour varies side to side and the balance with the rest of the face has to be considered.
