I’ve asked questions before on here & always appreciate the honesty. Thank you all! I’m 42 yro, 5ft 4in, 111lbs, size 2-3. I’m relatively thin but have a mommy tummy. I had children starting at 18 (during pregnancy went from 102 to 150 & lost it quick). I can’t even remember what my belly looked like pre-baby. I’m not getting any younger & want to see my abs again. My concern is that I’m thin and worry about scarring being low enough to hide.

Answer: Tummy Tuck Incision Hello,The incision can be placed in the same location on any person: in the border between your thigh and abdomen, and low across the pubis. This will ensure the least visibility possible. Go visit a few ABPS certified/ASAPS member surgeons who specialize in body contouring. Best of luck!

Answer: Hiding tummy tuck incisions How thin a patient is does not make an incision more or less hidden. The surgical planning and placement of the incision is what determines how easy it is to hide an incision under clothing. I have done tummy tucks on women who had no subcutaneous fat, just skin over muscle, and they had beautifully healed incisions that you could hardly see. I've also had patients with more subcutaneous fat that were still able to hide the incision under a string bikini. ;) How easy it is to hide is just one factor. My goal is not just to place the incision well, but to also make it as least noticeable as possible, even when uncovered. There are steps I can take as a surgeon to promote this type of healing, and there are steps you can take as a patient to help the scar heal as nicely as possible, and I explain all of the ways to optimize incisions during the consultation, as well as during the followup visits. There are so many options now regarding scar management
