Hi Doctors, I had my right areola revised 1 month ago, I am worried about the dimples and irregularities around my areola. I had not this problem on my first surgery. Will it go away? Round block insision has been used in my first surgery and now as well. regards, Carla

I know it is hard to be patient but you are still healing from the procedure.  It can take a few months for you to see your final result from your areola reduction.  Be sure to closely follow your surgeon's post op instructions for optimal results.

Your picture shows a perfectly fine result, and the small irregularities that you notice are normal at this stage. The reason why you didn't notice them after the first procedure is that your surgeon has probably removed a bit more skin this time, which inevitably caused the small dimples when suturing the outer and inner circumferences of the round block incisions together. it will take few months for the skin to stretch and improve, but you should be absolutely fine.

Carla, what your are describing and what your pictures show is very normal following this type of procedure and can take several weeks or months to completely resolve but typically the scars will soften and the rippling will improve nicely.  As always, make sure you are communicating your concerns to your plastic surgeon so that he or she can make the best recommendations for you.
