I have been thinking about getting a BBL for a year or so now and think I will go through with it. I am concerned though, how close to my goal weight should I be? I am 5'5 and look good/ feel good at 150-160. I gained a lot of weight (now 180) during a dark period but now I am eating right and working out again. How close to my goal weight should I get? I'd like to book my surgery in May but it all depends on the weight thing. Thanks!
Answer: Pre-operative Weight & BBL Thanks for your question. It depends on your goal for the BBL and how your fat is distributed throughout your body. If you desire a dramatic change, I think it's best to have some extra fat for the procedure rather than not enough. That being said, I don't recommend you lose all the weight that you've gained, comma after the BBL. You want to reach a weight in which you're happy with the way that both your buttocks and your body look. Please always consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Answer: Weight and BBL If you are a few pounds over your goal weight you likely are a fairly good candidate for a BBL procedure. For your height I would imagine getting closer to 160 would be reasonable. A consultation in person would help clarify things for you of course. You should meet with a few experienced plastic surgeons for a thorough exam in person.Best wishes,Dr.Bruno

Answer: Ideal weight for BBL Hello and thanks for your questions. Short answer is that you should be as close to your goal weight as possible before undergoing your procedure. I would encourage you to schedule a consultation and discuss your BBL treatment options with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), who is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS), and also a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) demonstrating their commitment to cosmetic surgery and excellence in surgery. Assure that they have multiple before and after photos of results that you like so that you can have an informed discussion about your BBL and possible results. Best wishes! Answer: BBL I recommend getting as close as you can to your goal weight for optimal results. Even if you're 5 lbs away that should be fine. If you lose significant weight after your surgery, you may affect the results. You should have a discussion with your plastic surgeon about the weight that you and your doctor feel comfortable with before proceeding with surgery.

Answer: Weight loss before BBL Dear Luna_xo,Congrats on the weight loss! Generally speaking, you want to reach your goal weight before you considering BBL surgery, otherwise your results will be suboptimal if you continue to lose weight after the surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.
