Hi I have silicone 385 cohesion style implants I had a massage the other day and she stepped on my back as a massage too, I felt fine during this didn’t hear a pop or anything , but now three days later I feel a little sore on my right breast occasional shooting pain? Could I have ruptured it while I was getting a massage? I thought it takes a lot to rupture an implant? I workout a lot as well, is this possible?

Answer: Ruptured implant after massage Hello and Great Question. I appreciate the time you are spending researching this procedure. My name is Dr. Matthew J. Nykiel. I am a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, a Fellowship Trained Cosmetic Surgeon, and a Cosmetic Breast Augmentation Specialist It is possible for an implant to rupture due to trauma however it is very unlikely for it repute from a massage. The only way to know for sure is to get an MRI of your breasts. I would recommend to make an appt to follow up with your surgeon. I hope that helps! Best of Luck! Matthew J. Answer: Best is to discuss specifically with the operating surgeon so that he /she can take a look. Thank you for your question. Silicon implants require a big amount of pressure in order to rupture. Complications sometime arise and getting a thorough evaluation by a Board Certified plastic surgeon is essential. Best is to discuss specifically with the operating surgeon so that he /she can take a look.
