Abdominoplasty? Skinny fat (Photo)

Question

I am slim, tall but have always had a fat belly & rolls on upper abdomen. I gain all my weight on belly, back & breasts first. I have a small bum & slim thighs, which makes middle look even worse. I was skinnier for a long time, but I lost weight all over & just looked emaciated/too thin. I swim intensively 3 x a week & normally do a lot of cycling & cardio at the gym, but my fat torso stays fat. Would an abdominoplasty help? Or another op? I’m 41, no kids.

thank you for posting your fotos and question.Congratulations, practicing a healthy life style.  If your skin elasticity  is good, liposuction probably will be a good option for you. Downtime is usually minimal, and patients return back to their daily routine within days. In case you had been pregnant, things are a little different. During pregnancy the abdominal wall stretches and rarely returns to the status before pregnancy. Many patients benefit from an additional tightning procedure, or if necessary form excess skin removal. In order to make an educated decision, you should have a in person consultation. An aesthetically pleasing abdomen is something many of us desire and while proper nutrition, exercise and weight control are very important, sometimes we cannot achieve our goals. Simply getting older and pregnancy also play a role in the appearance of our abdomen. If you desire the most dramatic improvement, then a full tummy tuck can help you achieve your goals. A tummy tuck removes excess fat and skin, and tightens  muscles.  However, a mini tummy tuck or just liposuction are very good procedures and many patients are happy with only these surgeries.I would recommend that you see a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area that is a member of both ASPS & ASAPS and performs a lot of tummy tucks and body contouring. Hi ellamay.  Thank you for your question and photos.  You are doing a good amount of exercise but retain you middle fat, which may be an indication of #hormone imbalance.  I would recommend that you ask your Dr to check all your hormone levels.  As far as what can be done to improve your tummy. you have not had any children so your skin should be in good condition ( looks good in photos) so more than likely you would be a good candidate for liposuction without a #tummy tuck / #abdominoplasty.  If you would like to improve your #buttock shape/fullness, the an option would be to use the fat reomved to give you a fuller bum with #fat grafting #Brazilian Buttock Lift.  Hope that this is helpful.

Looking at your photos I might say that you´ll be a great candidate to get an entire back, waist and flanks liposuction, with BBL, and tummy tuck, this is because all the extra skin located in this areas plus your abdominal muscle needs to be repaired.
  
Before all this, of course, you need to get a complete medical evaluation and laboratory exams to check everything is fine. Also please try to find a board certified plastic surgeon, remember that your safety, always, is going to be first.

Thanks for the question and provided information as well. 
Based on your pictures you are good candidate for liposuction with a 
full tummy tuck. This combination has become very common. It is safe to 
combine both procedures. I recommend you wait 6 months in order to have 
any other surgical procedure.
 I recommend to book a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss the best options for your goals.
