Mi chin lacks slight projection. After some research i have found out i need about 4mm more projection. I am still unsure if I should get a chin implant or genioplasty. Right now i am opting more towards a chin implant, because i only need horizontal projection, the projection needed is not that big, lower recovery time, can make chin more square and that it can be reversed. The only thing stopping me is that i always hear that a genioplasty is “more permanent” and ages better. I am only 20 and prefer only doing this precidure 1 time. Will a small chin implant of 4-5mm age well?

Answer: When indicated, chin implant surgery may be performed on a 20-year-old.
A chin implant will sometimes compress the underlying bone and create a hollow into the bone. Also, the skin is going to stretch. A 4mm implant may not give a 4mm projection. Most surgeons use sizers at the time of surgery to assess what looks appropriate.
